Kansas Family Reunion

June 4th, 2005 7 Comments

Over the Memorial Day holiday we took a trip with Melissa’s family back to Kansas to Grandpa’s farm (our boys’ great-grandpa)! Most of Melissa’s Aunts and Uncles were getting together along with a few cousins and their growing families. Our boys have been to the farm a couple times now and already have fond memories of “exploring” around and having fun. Despite the 4 days of total driving time to and from Kansas, we had a wonderful time!

The weekend was full of excitement, here are a few of the highlights!

  • Isaiah getting to ride 2 huge farm tractors
  • The 4-Wheeler rides (the adult drivers tired out WAY before the kids)
  • Peek-A-Boo in the wheat field
  • Fish Heads
  • Great-Grandpa’s sausage every morning
  • Lots of great relaxing conversation
  • Texas Hold ‘Em “victory at last!! “
  • Uncle Bruce’s camp fire
  • Chad’s droopy marshmallow’s
  • Driving around all the old home and farm sites with Grandpa being tour guide.
  • The rained out stock car races, “sorry uncle Bruce, hope to see #6 in action someday”
  • Our rich, loving, Godly, family heritage!

We love you all and can’t wait till we meet again!

@Markus I get your drift on where you were going there. I often think of my past and use it as a means to analyze where I am and where I want to get to. Where I struggel is balancing it all out. How do you guys balance things out?

@chels I know what you mean, its hard to find good help these days. People now days just don’t have the work ethic they used to have. I mean consider whoever wrote this post, they must have been working hard to write that good and it took a good bit of their time I am sure. I work with people who couldn’t write like this if they tried, and getting them to try is hard enough as it is.

Just wasting some free time on Digg and I found your article . Not typically what I prefer to read about, but it was definitely worth my time. Thanks.
