Compassion As Lifestyle
Hey Pare,
I came late last night at GENCON, it was you who was sharing your mission stories, I was encouraged by your testimony, even If i have watched your video “falling in love with arenda” a couple of times. last night seems the go signal that i’ve been waiting for. I have been planning to do some small stuffs like giving food or clothing to those who were homeless usually we call them mga “taong-grasa” (grease people). You know everyday I see them on streets, sidewalks sleeping with torn clothes, no pillows, etc. I was reminded how the work and witness team for Arenda gave hope and joy to that place. I was inspired by your story and it seems that God revealed something last night through you. You see I am not really very good in sharing God’s word, but somehow I believe my strength is more on action, so I thanked God that he used you to give me a clear vision on what is giving hope and joy to those who are in need of God’s love.
This week I just want to do things one at a time. My target is to give food to this “taong-grasa” named Kiko who has been in our town for a decade now. I know the place where he stays and where he sleeps, they say he’s now insane, but somehow I think he can still understand people. The last time I gave him some food was wayback January. For now that is my target to give him food 2x or 3x a week. If I will be successful this week, I am planning to give him some clothes.
Hey Pare pray for me, I was really encouraged by what you have shared last night! May God continue to use your life as a channel of blessing to others! Salamat pare! Godbless!
I received this message from a friend after sharing part of my testimony during the Sunday evening youth service at Taytay First Church of the Nazarene. What a beautiful example of living a lifestyle that reflects compassion and openness to God’s leading. Please help pray for this young man as he truly leads by example in his church and community showing what it means to be Christlike to those around him. May we each be so inspired to be salt and light to those we come in contact with!

Sweetness!
