Hiligaynon Audio Bible Project
We have a really cool project going on at WMC-AP right now. We have partnered with a group called Faith Comes By Hearing in the past to record an audio version of the New Testament into Cebuano, which is the second largest language group in the Philippines. Well, we are working with FCBH again! This time we are recording an audio Bible in Hiligaynon which is the third major dialect in the Philippines. It is spoken by about 11 million Filipinos in the Vasayas.

The audio Bibles are provided for free to willing recipients. It is targeted primarily at those who have handicaps preventing them from reading, but also to those who are not literate or to any who are eager for a Bible in audio form. They make the audio files free for download, but they also provide them on small personal MP3 players and on CD. We have seen such great use of the Cabuano project that now working on the Hiligaynon is so exciting.
FCBH has sent Adrian and Jasmine Lai from their team in Hong-Kong as technicians on the project and we have acquired professional voice talent from the Hiligaynon language area. Most of our voice talent are radio DJs and are not Christian. As the project unfolds, it’s so awesome to see God’s anointing on it in dramatic ways.
Last week while the team was recording, one of the voice actors was touched by the Holy Spirit while reading Romans 8. He began to weep while on set. God had touched him so deeply through what he was reading. His name is El Rey and he told one of the proof listeners that he was struck with the depth of God’s grace for him. He shared that in all his life, the only sin that he had NOT done was to kill a person. While reading Romans 8 he realized how great God’s love for him is, and he could not help but respond to that love.
How awesome is that!? Help us pray that God’s anointing continues to cover this project as it goes into the nations spreading the light of the gospel.

Daniel, how AWESOME!! Ray and I love to hear about those Holy Spirit moments!! We are so blessed to be able to keep up with our love for the Filipinos thru you!! Blessings!! Becki

Dan, this is great. I use audiobooks a lot so for people who are blind or like you say, can\’t read, what a way to bring Jesus to them. Praise God and all the great work you do. Pat

Thank you for your excellent report. We covet your prayers for the launch of the Faith Comes By Hearing program in Hiligaynon next year. Pls give Adrian and Jasmine an encouraging word for me and tell El Ray that many here will be praying especially for him. God bless you!
