A Crazy Two Weeks

I don’t even know where to begin. The past two weeks have gone by in a blur and I’m still not sure when life will get back to normal. The whirlwind began as Batman, Kaptain Pumpkin, Princess Ela, the Autumn Fairy and Mohawk Daddy all ended the month of October with buckets full of candy, tummies full of cookies, and pockets full of toys from the party sponsored by the “Party Planning Committee” for the children of the missionaries, students and staff of APNTS. Two days later we traveled south for a bit of sun, sand, swimming and snorkeling during our annual Naz missionary retreat with a total of 37 in attendance. We also traveled north to the mountains this past weekend for crackling fires, roasted marshmallows, sweaters, moth ball blankets, hot chocolate, Yahtzee, fish “swords”, strawberries, fine food at Cafe by the Ruins and a marathon of the one season wonder, Firefly. These were all special treats since the average temperature here in Manila rarely dips below 80. We have put up the Christmas tree, strung lights, hung ornaments and launched the season with Charlie Brown. We have giggled over the antics of our new kitten, Kuschli, whom we adopted from our Swiss friends. The name has something to do with being cuddly, but she is still very feisty, as my Christmas tree can attest. And we have even survived going more than 72 consecutive hours without internet connection. Now life just needs to get back to normal, but that won’t really happen until I can make it to the grocery store to restock our empty cupboards. I have been a poor communicator these past two weeks and I apologize for missed calls and unanswered emails. Today I will begin to put things back in order. I will start with my tree
Write us, we miss you.
I hope your family is having a great week. The photos are great…we’re you guys on a little holiday at the beach?
We’re getting settled in here, it’s taken quite a long time with all three kids starting school, and all the craziness that has come with that; but God is good! Shauna and I are both beginning our work here this work so we are excited and anxious to see how God will use and and teach us.
We send our love to you guys and we’re praying for you.
