Aslan, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
I wanted to mark a special day by putting up this post. Since even before becoming a dad I have looked forward to reading some of my favorite and beloved books with my kids. Now that I have 3 beautiful kids I am so pleased that all 3 love reading and listening to books read aloud to them.
Isaiah is coming up on 5 years old now and we recently finished Wind In The Willows again for the 4th time and even though he asked in sincerity if we could start over from the beginning again I thought it might be time to broaden his horizons a little.
I have been anticipating the opportunity to read C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and thought it was time to give it a try. It took Isaiah a chapter or two to really get into it, but once he did, there was no turning back. It was so fun reading this book which I have always loved with my son and getting the chance to talk about each chapter and each character and help him see the parallels to Jesus in the story.
Just last night we finished the book and Isaiah is eager for more. I thought I would share a little interview I had with Isaiah about the book. Enjoy!

Over the past few weeks that Daniel has been reading this book, Isaiah has brought up several things from the story and it has been good to talk with him about them and hear a young child’s reaction to this book. Daniel said Isaiah got angry when the White Witch killed Aslan and told him he would not have let her do that if he had been there. I love these books as well and think Aslan is a great portrayal of who Jesus is and I am excited to see Isaiah start to understand some of this stuff through reading this book with his Daddy and talking about it with us.
