Merry Independence!
We had a wonderful 4th of July. Although we are not necessarily overly patriotic, being young enough to have missed the “great wars”, we love the 4th. We are a truly blessed nation. But most of what I love about the 4th does not have much to do with the occasion for the holiday. Namely I enjoy getting a day off of work, being with my family, and fireworks! That said, we have had 3 nice things happen today.
- We took the morning and headed to our nice little zoo in Boise. While not excessively big, its perfect for our boys, and there are lots of fun things to see and lots of fun things to do. I think the boys enjoy the toys and play areas much more than the animals. The Merekats did get a pretty nice laugh out of Ian though.
- As many of you know, our house is on the market in preparation for heading to the Philippines. We got it listed last Wednesd! ay. It would be pretty tragic to have to deal with an unsold house while on the mission field and for us to worry about renters or house payments while there, so we have been prepared to take the first reasonable offer and find somewhere to rent before heading out of Nampa September 18th. Sunday morning, after offering the whole situation to God, we got a call from a realtor wanting to show the house. Later that day, we got a call from our realtor that there would be an offer coming in the next day and she was asking if we would be available to review it with her. Monday, we reviewed the offer. The offer is for full asking price, all closing costs split, coming from a property investor. He offered for us to continue to rent the house as long as we need! The only thing he wanted was our refrigerator. He can have it, we were going to have to find a way to get rid of it anyway! Not sure we could have formulated a more perfect situation. Plus, we may get this whole th! ing wrapped up before Elanor gets here. It would be very nice! not to have to deal with showing a house with a newborn needing attention. Out last house sold in 3 days, looks like this one took 4 but we will take what we can get.
Thank you Lord. We will let you know if everything comes together over the next couple days! - This evening we had friends over for a BBQ, playing in the pool, and a fireworks show at dusk. He had a wonderful relaxed time. Not sure who had more fun lighting the fireworks, me or the kids. Actually I’m pretty sure it was me. Check out the picture below.
Thanks again to everyone praying for us. The Lord is continuing to provide and bless more than we could imagine. We will let you know over the next few days when we have the house offer wrapped up and when Melissa goes into labor. COME ON ELANOR!
