My Upcoming Postition Change at WMC

These are exciting and busy days for our ministry at World Mission Communications Asia-Pacific (WMC). We recently produced and submitted a film “Kamatis” to the 168 Hour Film Festival, held this past weekend in Los Angeles. Out of 80 films ours was nominated for awards in 3 categories. Though we didn’t win anything, the recognition and experience were well worth the efforts. We’ll soon be sharing that film with the rest of you in a variety of ways.

We are in the midst of hosting our own 100 Plus International Film Festival, inviting young people around the world to share their vision for the future through the creative medium of film. Many participants from several countries are already responding. The due date for submission is July 2008, with awards being given during our Church of the Nazarene Centennial Celebration this coming October.

A great story just came in today regarding World Mission Broadcast radio programs in Butuan and General Santos City here in the Philipipnes, reporting that 62 people recently gave their lives to Christ, and three cell groups have formed to disciple these new believers! We’re also currently involved in partnership projects with World Vision and the Philippine Children’s Ministry Network, as well as productions for unreached people groups in Mindanao.

In the midst of all these great things, we are also experiencing some personnel transition.

After 12 years of dedicated service to WMC-AP, first as a volunteer radio announcer, producer, then Audio Production Manager and Officer in Charge, Emily Bolinas has announced her resignation, effective at the end of May 2008. Emily is being promoted to full time MOM to manage her home, her three precious children, and her husband Thads. As much as we will miss her leadership and talent on a daily basis, we are happy that Emily will still be involved in various projects from time to time. Thanks Emily for 12 great years. May God bless you as you move into this extremely important role as stay-at-home mom.

In spite of our loss, we rejoice in the fact that God has already provided Emily’s replacement. Over the past three years God has been preparing me to assume a larger leadership role at WMC. Beginning on June 1, 2008 I will officially begin my new assignment as Director of WMC Asia-Pacific. Since coming to Manila in 2005, I have served as Director of New Media, heading up print design and web development projects. I will still give some oversight and assistance to this area as we hire and train our new Director of New Media, but I will be focusing my time on overall ministry, facility, staff, project development and management, and creative direction. In this role, I will also work closely with Regional Communications Coordinator, Doug Flemming, in regards to the implementation of regional mission and vision.

This is a big change for me moving me further from first hand creative work into a management position, but God has suprisingly been preparing me for this and I am very excited for this opportunity. I will humbly and prayfully do my best to provide WMC the much needed direction they have been missing since Doug moved to Singapore. Please pray for me as this transition takes place. Pray that the new tasks and skills would be easily assumed and that God would send us the perfect Director of New Media to head up our web and print projects.
Together we are prayfully making Christlike disciples in the nations….by all means possible!

Daniel, this is no real surprise to some of us. Your leadership skillz are something I’ve always believed in. More importantly than the skillz is your desire to follow Jesus lead, which I can attest to. Rock’n'roll, my DLF.

Of course we all know the real secret to any success in you life is Melissa. :-)

GOD has his perfect choice for the leader who will be handling HIS ministries and HE perfectly chose you to lead WMC-AP… GOD will be with you always and even when you feel tired doing things, you know that HE will be your primary source of strength… and Tommy-son mentioned that the real secret to your success is your wife - Melissa… haha! I wish GOD will give me one! :P
