I was snapping shots of people walking by as I sipped cappuccino at a cafe in Yangshuo China. It's funny cause a second before this shutter clicked this woman was beaming as she was saying goodbye to a passing friend.

Like this shot, I took this while passing these two girls on a scooter. The road was pretty hilly and the girl on back had to keep jumping off to let her friend get up the hills. They were pretty surprised to see this big while guy on a tiny green motorscooter pointing a camera at them, but once the shock wore off they wanted to see picture.

You see in the movies all the time groups of Chinese men or women just sitting around in incredibly picturesque settings wearing really interesting clothes and with these incredible expressions on their beautiful faces. Well...I am here to say they don't stage that stuff. You just walk around with a camera and can snap hundreds of shots like this one. It's amazing.

This shot was taken in Yangshuo China while driving a motorscooter down the road. I have been playing with "sport" mode with my rebel in certain one handed situations like this and have had mixed results. This one turned out cool though.

This old woman was walking her cows in the karst country side while Nic, Wendy (our Chinese guide) and I were giving my scooter a break since it's battery was so weak it would not carry me up the hills. When she passed she noticed my camera and wanted to see the pictures ... so I gave her this portrait to look at! ;-)

This is taken in the town of Yangshuo China. The full moon was out being masked by clouds, the town lights were lighting up the karst peaks and buildings and water and it all made for a stunning environment. I am really pleased that this shot conveys the scene well!

This is the view from our $12 hotel room in Yangshuo. It really is unexplainable what it felt like to stand there and take this shot upon waking in the morning. In this sense a camera falls short to convey the feeling, or at least my skills with one does.

This boy would swim up to the boats arriving on the beach and ask for coins. When a tourist would toss one into the shallows he would dive an get it. It really wasn't that degrading when you were there watching, but thinking about it now it sounds pretty bad. Worst part is that those tossing the coins probably would have never given him a second glance if he were asking for coins in the street.

These guys were walking along the beach with a lantern, bucket, and about 4 spears. I did not see them actually catch anything but they had fish in their bucket. Looks like a good way to spend the evening.
